CHELSEA DANIELSTURRIDGE ADMITTED OLYMPIC GAMES AS CENTRE PIECE OF HIS SUMMER

Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge
has admitted that this summer's
Olympic games is the "centre-
piece" of his summer, after being
overlooked by England boss Roy
Hodgson for Euro 2012 team.
The 23-year-old contracted viral
meningitis that threatened his
inclusion in Stuart Pearce's squad
and the Blues striker only
completed 45 minutes play time before the
tournament began.
He was withdrawn at half-time in
the 1-1 draw with Senegal at Old
Trafford by boss Pearce, but he
stepped off the bench at
Wembley to seal a 3-1 win
against UAE with an audacious
chip from him.
"This was the centre-piece of my
summer," he told the chelsea
official website.
"It was the right stage to show
what I am capable of, but I was
more than a bit concerned about
missing it,it was fun.
