CHELSEA JOINS BATTLE FOR NEWCASTLE CHEICK TIOTE

NEWCASTLE is reportedly to be set to battle the likes of Chelsea,
Manchester City and Arsenal over
Cheick Tiote. Tiote, who joined Newcastle from FC Twente for a sum of
£3.5million in year 2010 and only signed a deal at the Sports Direct
Arena last year, became famous last season as Newcastle finished in an
impressive fifth in the English Premier
League. Chelsea have been linked with a possible signing of Chieck
Tiote. Michael
Essien has been having series of
injury concerns and is not the same player he is known for and
Nigerian John Obi Mikel performerns have been inconsistence so it
obvious why the Stamford Bridge side would be interested in the
Magpies intelligent player.
The Ivory Coast player adapted instantly to life in the English top
tier after arriving at St James' Park from FC Twente two summers ago.
The defensive midfielder has been an hero at Newcastle United and was
a major force in Alan
Pardew's push for a best EPL five finish last season and
is surely not a player they would consider selling at present.
