SIR ALEX FERGUSON DECLARE NEMANJA VIDIC FIT FOR PRE-SEASON TOUR

Manchester United manager Sir
Alex Ferguson has revealed that
team captain Nemanja Vidic will
be participating in the club's
European pre-season
tour.
As exclusively revealed by
teamsheadtohead, the 30-year-old had
stepped up his training over a
week ago
as he looks to be fit for the Red
Devils' first game of the new
Premier League season against
Everton by August 20.
Vidic has been ruled out since
suffering knee ligament damage
in December and Sir Alex has
welcomed the news following
setbacks to fellow defenders of the team. Chris Smalling is out for 10
weeks with his metatarsal
operation and Jonny Evans is still
just in light training," the United
boss told teamsheadtohead.
"They're big losses at the
moment and they will miss the
start of the upcoming season.
"Rafael is away [with Brazil at the
Olympics] and Fabio is away on
loan so there are four defensive
players that we don't have for
the back four positions at the moment.
"We do have Phil Jones, Nemanja
Vidic, Rio Ferdinand and Patrice
Evra and that will be the
back four on tour. Hopefully we
don't get any more injuries as it
would leave me a bit short of players."
The three game trip across
Europe will see United play against
Valerenga on August 5, with
games against Barcelona and
Hannover to follow.
