REALMADRID SQUAD ALMOST READY FOR TITTLE DEFEND...... JOSE MOURINHO

Jose
Mourinho has
claimed that
the Real
Madrid squad
is almost
complete
ahead of the
year 2012-13
campaign as the
Los Blancos
look to build
on last season's success.
The capital club roared to their
32nd Liga crown in the 2011-12,
collecting a record 100 points
and finishing nine points ahead
of league rival Barcelona. The 49-year-old has warned
fans that their team will face
stiff competition in the upcoming
campaign, but he is confident that
his players will soon be ready
for the rigours of the challenge of their title
defence.
"We are preparing rigorously
because we know it will not be
easy, on the contrary," the
Portuguese said at a press
conference he held.
"Our squad is almost complete for the task ahead.
These are very special players,
some of the world's best at the moment."
Real Madrid have long been
targeting their 10th Champions
League triumph, but Mourinho
has urged fans not to forget his
side's record-breaking title win
in the last season.
"There is a lot of passion when
it comes to Madrid and the
Champions League, but what
we want is to win titles come the upcoming season. In my opinion,
winning the league
with a record amount of points
is something difficult and
unique but was done by Madrid."
Real Madrid are currently on a
promotional tour in the United
States, and the Setubal native
took the time to reflect on the
status of football in the state.
"I know the sports culture of
this country, and that football
will never be their first sport but basketball.
But everything surrounding
football here is very positive,
and the football here is made up of
possibilities."
The league champions will
begin their title defence by
August 18 when they will be welcoming
Valencia to Madrid Santiago
Bernabeu.
