LIVERPOOL SET TO BEAT ARSENAL OVER SAHIN

Liverpool football club are set to beat Arsenal
for the signing of Madrid midfielder
Nuri Sahin. The Turkish is expected put to end his one-
year loan deal once the Spanish champions have concluded the
signing of Luka Modric from the spurs.
Sahin, 23, has found it difficult to meet first team since moving to
the Bernabeu from Borussia Dortmund last summer and had
been keen on a loan move to the emirate this summer. Real Madrid Boss Jose
Mourinho is however interested in the player to continue his
development under liverpool new Boss
Brendan Rodgers who took over at Anfield this summer. Mourinho had
been quite reluctant to loan Sahin to a potential Champions League
rival, while his long-standing feud with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger also
played a part in his reluctance to send the player to emirates.
Arsenal had identified the playmaker as the ideal candidate to make up for the
absence of Jack Wilshere, who recently suffered another setback in his
rehabilitation
from a long-term injury that took him away from football, and bolster
a midfield which looks likely to lose Alex Song to
Barcelona before the summer transfer closes. Sahin, who has been
talked into a move to Anfield by liverpool former player Xabi Alonso,
now looks set and may likely become Liverpool's third major signing
during the transfer summer.
The liverpool Boss has already spent £15million in order to reinforce
his side's central midfield with
the addition of Joe Allen from Swansea city and Fabio
Borini signed from Roma at the sum of £10m.
